Miami has a vibrant entrepreneurial community, yet few are innovation-driven, with only 7% of local venture capital staying in the region. Challenges include a limited presence of top STEM universities, few large corporate tech firms, and gaps in entry to mid-level talent, leading to a talent drain.
Through MIT REAP, our vision is to establish Miami as the top choice for talent and innovation-driven startups. By leveraging strengths in tourism, finance, and healthcare, we aim to diversify into sectors like FinTech, ClimateTech, and HealthTech, creating a dynamic ecosystem for growth and innovation.
