Des Moines, Iowa, is an important city in the United States’ insurance industry, and a sizable portion of its economy consists of agribusiness and finance. For MIT REAP Team Des Moines, a key challenge is evaluating the current state of the startup community. It has initiatives underway to measure and share the health and maturity of its entrepreneurship ecosystem, but hopes to strengthen such measures through engaging with MIT.
MIT REAP Team Des Moines also seeks to enhance the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystems throughout the region with assistance from MIT experts. The team’s group of key stakeholders will be able to utilize MIT REAP frameworks, research, and insights to develop strategic planning that will steer regional leaders to direct action items and economic transformation. These efforts will have a long-lasting impact on Central Iowa’s ecosystem.
