Team Strategy

  • Challenge & Opportunity:
  • Strategy & Action:
      • Region of focus: city of Ashdod located in the Southern District of Israel
      • Comparative advantage:
        • Israel’s largest port city on the Mediterranean with a history of manufacturing and industrial processes.
        • Highly educated population.
      • Core Challenges:
        • Very close to Tel Aviv, which is currently the entrepreneurial hub of Israel.
        • Needs to find clusters it can attract based on its uniqueness.
        • Post military population tends to move towards the center for the country to access universities and jobs
      • Stakeholder Insight:
        • Well balanced team (high involvement from all team members) but lacks a focus on entrepreneurs and a way to mobilize the team to support entrepreneurship in the region.
      • Will be updated once the team graduates from the program.
      • REAP Strategy:
        • Focus on the city’s infrastructure and related opportunities
      • Potential Strategic Intervention(s):
        • Create an experimental sandbox for testing new technologies
          • Metrics:
            • Number of startups located in Ashdod
            • Number of positions offered by these startups
            • Number of projects created in the living lab
            • Number of projects/ initiatives implemented
